Well it doesn't rain it monsoon's

About 4 week ago I had the gearbox mount and new drivers side (O/S) drive shaft done but before I had them done there was a serious juddering and shaking of the cab when in 1st gear, as I say though only on take off, I am only telling you this just in case it has anything to do with my problem.

Today I jumped in and couldn't get into any gears at all, there was a grinding noise or crunching when trying to select reverse, this is now the second time this has happened and on both occasions it had been stood for a few days.
Once I have managed to force it into gear it is fine after a bit of a drive, you get gears no problem.

Any ideas I can spend my none existing money on. Please tell me its a cheap fix.

Not sure if the two are connected

However when I replaced my RH engine mounting all seemed fairly straight forward
Took it for a spin no issues until I attempted to back it on to the wash bay at the petrol station

No matter how hard I tried it just would not go in so I had to push it in

Fitting a new mounting had raised the engine slightly on that side
This in turn affected the gear linkage so read up on how to adjust
and reverse reappeared :woo:

As I say hopefully this helps although the juddering may be down to the clutch itself :bang:

I had the "juddering on take off in first" problem. New clutch did not fix it. Had been assuming a new gearbox mount was required but not sure now.

Thanks for reply's, I will be trying it in the morning again and see what happens after 24 hour stood still standing because as I say on both occasions that its happened its been stood for a few days, just wondering if its a fluid issue because I have had it 18 month and not touched it but also not done many mile either,

Sounds like your clutch as stuck try starting vehicle in gear with clutch depressed and foot on brake with handbrake on first.

I did manage to force it in skybell with the clutch pressed and there was a bit of a thud and a jolt back slightly but once in all was fine, parked up outside my daughters for 3 hours came out all fine and goes in as normal ( as normal as a Talbot) rofl

I somehow dont think so skybell, things don't go that way with me and my van. It seems to happen after its been stood for a few days while I work on the interior. I will try in the morning if all is well then I will leave it a few days and see what happens. Could old break and clutch fluid be a contributing factor.

It's a cable clutch, not hydraulic, so no clutch fluid involved. Does it go into all gears ok when the engine is stopped?
